Mapping regional textiles for SOHE

This exhibition at UW-Madison’s Lynn Mecklenburg Textile Gallery (part of the School of Human Ecology) highlighted textiles from five major regions of Africa. To clearly delineate the regions, we used a map of the continent filled with textiles from the countries within those regions. The final graphics were eye catching, and also helped the viewer orient themselves quickly to the parts of the continent each section focused on.

In addition to the title wall, we created panels that described the textile traditions and techniques of each region, as well as window text and signage for the exhibition.
